STATE BOUND: We are filled with excitement as we celebrate our incredible Varsity Speech Team for their outstanding performance Saturday at the 2026 IHSA Sectionals at Thornton High School! 

Congratulations to the Southland Varsity Speech Team for Earning 6 Individual Awards and ADVANCING to State! 

The following students placed:

- Aubrey Lawrence - 2nd Place, Humorous Interpretation
- Courtney Clemons & Jordan Lee - 3rd Place, Dramatic Duet Acting
- Aubrey Davis - 3rd Place, Original Comedy

- Performance In the Round (PIR) - 3rd Place for "Replay" by Jordan Peele, Adapted & Directed by Coach Terrence Mayfield

- Aubrey Davis - 3rd Place, Special Occasion Speaking
